Mercedes has signed a double victory in the 2015 Austrian GP F1 but the order has not been that many expected that Nico Rosberg has won ahead of Lewis Hamilton. The German driver overtook his teammate at the start and then cemented his third win in the last four races, a roll that leaves just 10 points behind championship leader.

The third in the Red Bull Ring was for Felipe Massa who had an interesting battle with Sebastian Vettel was 4th. The only Spanish rider who finished was Roberto Merhi in the 14th position. Fernando Alonso left after a major accident with Kimi Raikkonen at the first turn and Carlos Sainz also had to withdraw mid-race because of problems with the battery of his Toro Rosso.

2015 Austrian GP F1: Rosberg wins

The output was decisive for the future of the race because Nico Rosberg surprised with a great start that allowed him to overtake Hamilton did not go so well. The English driver tried to regain first place in the first few corners but Rosberg defended well and stayed in front. Behind Sebastian Vettel third while leaving Daniil Kvyat damaged his front wing.

That touch of Red Bull came to nothing when we saw the pictures of which starred Raikkonen and Alonso. Both drivers were climbing positions from the back of the grid but Ferrari lost the rear of his car and McLaren was so close that he could not avoid him. The car Alonso climbed to Kimi and the guardrail by which advanced for a few meters but the two drivers escaped unscathed from an accident that could have had worse consequences.

The bad news for McLaren-Honda continued because the car shortly after Button had problems and had to retire English. Meanwhile Sainz amounted to 9th place to 13th and Merhi benefited by early retirements. In the fight for first place Rosberg open space and came to have a couple of seconds over Hamilton had no rhythm teammate.

The steps along the pit lane were also decisive mainly by problems Vettel and Hamilton. The Ferrari driver had a very slow stop because one of the nuts of your tires gave problems; a fact to stand Massa took third. Hamilton stepped on the start line on track after stopping in the pits and suffered a penalty of 5 seconds end of the race that left him with virtually no options.

From there the race was decided in favor of Rosberg who made no mistakes and got the win. Behind if there was battle because Vettel was put on Massa but the Williams driver managed to keep him behind and to the podium. Valtteri Bottas was 5th ahead of Nico Hulkenberg made seven days a great career after winning in Le Mans.

The fight for seventh place between Pastor Maldonado and Max Verstappen was also interesting and decided in favor of Lotus by an almost suicidal overtaking in which almost did not touch the Toro Rosso and made virtually no control of the car. Still very good result for the young Dutchman has made it very interesting details during the weekend as Carlos Sainz but this time the Spaniard was unable to complete more than half the race having to leave by problems in the battery after several turns rolling a very low rate.

With these results the championship tightens because now Hamilton has 169 points and Rosberg 159. Vettel is third with 120 and Raikkonen fourth but as far with 72. The next round of the championship will be within 15 days in a historic track like Silverstone.
