Throughout the weekend was raced the Rally Argentina 2015, fourth scoring round of the WRC. In it we had lived in a different outcome for the previous three Sebastien Ogier has not won but Kris Meeke getting his first win in the WRC.
Citroen brand has been winning in Argentina has since signed a doublet with Mads Ostberg in second place. Elfyn Evans completed the podium with Ford and Dani Sordo was 5th with Hyundai. The quotation from Argentina has been unfortunate for Volkswagen that for two years not down from the podium and this time had many mechanical problems.
Rally Argentina has been really hard and almost no driver has escaped from mechanical problems, accidents, or both. The first stage of the event was held on Friday and over 50 kilometers and disappeared options Sebastien Ogier and Thierry Neuville who had mechanical problems.
Kris Meeke had a great start as the Spanish Dani Sordo but struggled in the power steering Hyundai and gave his time as Jari-Matti Latvala who had problems with the brakes and the gearbox of his Volkswagen Polo R. Mads Ostberg also lost 45 seconds to stop his car so Meeke ended the day more a minute ahead of Latvala and Ostberg.
Ostberg tried to reduce differences in the second day and cut nearly half a minute on consolidated Meeke while Latvala third. Thierry Neuville got up positions while Dani Sordo had mechanical problems on the final stage and lost any chance of fighting for the podium.
The last day consisted of only two sections as she arrived with the first three defined positions for Meeke, Ostberg and Latvala. However, the Volkswagen driver had mechanical problems, did not leave the sections and Evans met an unexpected podium. Furthermore, in the Power Stage, Neuville and Mikkelsen crashed on the same land bank and had to leave so the Hyundai lost the valuable fourth place in his hand. Dani Sordo could at least beat Al-Qassimi and ascend to the 5th position, a good result in view of all their problems.
Sordo was 2nd in the Power Stage and added two extra points. Sébastien Ogier , no options from day one, attacked in the final stretch and managed to win so it added 3 points. Ostberg added one more but neither he nor Meeke risked too much to ensure the double. For Meeke was a victory that was expected for years and had to drive to get it on the first day very well and flee from concentration problems and errors that already had deprived him of great results.
